Article Publishing
One of the most powerful things you can do that effects Off-Site SEO (Search Engine Optimization that occurs in your behalf on another domain) is to have articles about your company, product or service published broadly on the internet.
Be sure and check these things:
- Copy is well-written & spell checked
- Copy contains important keyword phrases
- Links back to your website are near keyword phrases
- Use "title" tags with keywords in your links
- Article length about 500 words
- Use only one "H1" tag - for the heading of the article
- Use other "H" tags for sub headings
- Use text decoration when appropriate (bold, italics, underline)
- Use two to four small, appropriate graphics
- Be sure and add "alt" tags to graphics
- Link from graphics to additional pages on your site
- Be sure and keep the pages that you link to - your article can live for years! - you don't want it sending people to non-existent pages!
Once you have your article written, it needs to be thoroughly SEO'd, - that is, "optimized" for search engines. A thoroughly optimized article will incorporate all of the standard HTML META tags, uses the appropriate HEADER tags, contains about 5% saturation of keyword phrases.
